MOTION OF A SPINNING BODY EQUIPPED WITH A DYNAMIC DAMPER CONTAINING VISCOUS FRICTION.

Abstract

The effect of a linear dynamic damper with viscous friction on the motion of a spinning body having an axis of dynamic symmetry is determined. Expressions for the natural frequencies and the time constants of the system are obtained, after which the motion of the system due to a unit torque impulse normal to the axis of symmetry is determined. Finally, the motion due to any given torque-time relationship is determined. (Author)
