RESEARCH ON SECOND ORDER EFFECTS IN THE ELASTIC RESPONSE OF METALS.
Abstract
Using the Green, Almansi and Hencky measures of finite strain, the elastic response of a circular cylinder in torsion is calculated under the assumption that a change of length is prevented. It is found that this requires the application of axial pressures at the ends. (Author)
