ON THE WEI-HO GRABEN.

Abstract

The Wei-ho Graben refers to the alluvial plain on Wei-ho between Ch'in-ling and the Wei-ho Northern Hills. It begins from Pao-chi in the west and extends to T'ung-kuan in the east, a distance of about 300 kilometers. It is broad in the east and narrow in the west, forming a bugle shape, which is closed in the vicinity of Pao-chi. The widest part in the east reaches 80 kilometers.
