ENGINEERING DESIGN TEST REPORT OF THE 100-KW, 400-CYCLE, GAS-TURBINE-ENGINE-DRIVEN GENERATOR SET SOLAR MODEL T-350M-5.

Abstract

The report covers the engineering design testing and the evaluation of a 100-kw, 400-cycle, gas-turbine-engine-driven generator set for use in the AN/MPQ-32 Radar System, and as a member of the Army's family of multipurpose prime power packages. The report concludes that the 100-kw, 400-cps, gas-turbine-engine-driven generator set will be suitable for field use by the Army, including the AN/MPQ-32 Radar System, after redesign of the engine roller thrust bearing mounting and retaining means. During the test program other failures occurred which were random in nature or easily correctable without major redesign effort. (Author)
