SHELTER OCCUPANCY STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA

Abstract

From 1962 through 1965 the University of Georgia Civil Defense Research Staff conducted eight simulated community fallout shelter occupancy tests for the Office of Civil Defense. Investigated variables included organizational and environmental factors. Participants were men, women, and children, aged 1-70 years. The last two 300-person tests, conducted in 1965, form the basis for the report.
