THERMAL DEGRADATION OF TEFLON.

Abstract

A differentiator circuit for use with TGA instrumentation was modified anf found to be satisfactory with Teflon. The studies on Teflon indicated that the degradation of this polymer is probably close to first order over the entire temperature range. In addition, no evidence was found for any marked changes in activation energy with conversion in the degradation of this polymer. (Author)
