ELECTRON BEAM TECHNIQUES FOR FABRICATION AND ASSEMBLY OF PARTS FOR ELECTRON TUBES.

Abstract

An investigation was made of electron beam welding and drilling of materials in combinations and thicknesses which could normally be expected to be encountered in the manufacture of electron tubes. An analysis was made of two electron tubes, types 6544 and 6914, in order to choose joints to be electron beam welded. The efforts concerning the performance of preproduction and pilot line manufacture of these tubes are presented.
