CALCULATION OF A LASER MONOPULSE DURING INSTANTANEOUS SWITCH-IN OF AN INTERFEROMETER.

Abstract

Formulas are derived for analyzing the basic characteristics of a single-pulse Q-switching laser as functions of population inversion, pumping power, mirror reflectivity, and other properties of the active medium and resonator. Calculations based on these formulas show good agreement with computations made on a digital computer in two previous works by the authors. The limits of applicability of the formulas are discussed.
