MINIATURE PRECISION COAXIAL CABLE ASSEMBLIES.

Abstract

A miniature, flexible, precision coaxial cable, of 50 ohms characteristic impedance, was developed for broadband applications at frequencies up to 10 GC. Intended applications for the cable are in beacon and missile equipment and in microminiaturized ground communication and radar equipment. Mechanical and electrical design of the cable, which features a plated, corrugated outer conductor, was completed to contract specifications. A pilot plant was designed to produce the cable at the rate of 5 ft./hour. The development program was concluded with extended environmental and electrical testing of prototype cable. (Author)
