SUMMARY OF RESEARCH ON REINFORCED AND UNREINFORCED CYLINDRICAL SHELLS, 1961-1965.

Abstract

The studies briefly summarized in this report stem from the investigation of the transverse strength of submarines performed during the past four years. The work was primarily concerned with static stress and stability analyses of reinforced and unreinforced cylindrical shells. Within this framework linear and nonlinear stress and stability analyses were carried out. The summary presents brief abstracts of the material presented in twenty-two distinct reports and publications.
