THERMAL AGING STUDIES OF SOLENOID COIL INSULATION SYSTEMS.

Abstract

A procedure consisting of heat aging, vibration, humidification, and voltage stress has been developed for studying thermal aging characteristics of solenoid coil insulation systems. The procedure was applied to eight experimental epoxy-encapsulated solenoid coil insulation systems, and the thermal life of the eight systems was established. The procedure is recommended for general use in establishing the thermal life of coil insulation systems. (Author)
