INITIAL APPLICATIONS OF APT PART PROGRAMMING TO SHIPBUILDING.

Abstract

Use in shipbuilding of the APT III part programming language, distributed by the Research Institute of the Illinois Institute of Technology, is illustrated. Information is also given about the APT language. Formats and functions of the Gecent Postprocessor instructions, prepared by the General Electric Co., are also presented to show the controls necessary for cutting ship parts using a Linde CM-70 Telerex flame-cutting machine. Numerous applications of these tools to shipbuilding problems are explained and illustrated. (Author)
