FILLERS AS COMPONENTS OF PACKING GREASES.

Abstract

The hermetization ability of packing greases with fillers depends upon the value of their maximum shear stress, due to the introduction of these solid grease components. The given parameter should serve as one of the basic lab characteristics of exploritational properties of packing greases. The effect of fillers on maximum shear stress of greases and evidently, on other of their exploitation properties, is determined by the nature of fillers and the remaining components of greases, and also by the dispersion and filler concentrations. Investigation of filler for the nature of their action on the properties of lithium greases (on the basis of castor oil) can be divided into inert, active and chemically reacting. (Author)
