A DIRECT CURRENT MOTOR WITH NO CONTACTS AND A TRANSISTOR COMMUTATOR.

Abstract

This article considers a non-contact dc motor of low power in which the collector is replaced by a transistor commutator controlled by a transformer sensor of the position of the rotor with respect to the stator. The rotor of the motor consists of a 2-pole permanent magnet. The transistor commutator of the motor may be used as a power amplifier. Control of motor speed is easily accomplished by means of modulating the input signals to the commutator. The motor is controlled by signals of low power which makes it possible to use it in automatic control systems without the use of very powerful additional amplifiers and converters. The development of contactless dc motor circuits with a commutator winding utilizing semiconductor elements opens extensive possibilities in the area of creating highly reliable controlled dc drive mechanisms.
