ON THE INTERMEDIATE STEP IN THE CATALYTIC DECOMPOSITION OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE BY FERRIC IONS.

Abstract

The catalytic decomposition of H2O2 by Fe(3+) ions was studied in solutions containing of the order of 1 M H2O2. The results show agreement with the mechanism involving intermediate complexes between ferric ion and the peroxide anion and permit the evaluation of K-3 = 63/min. (Author)
