A MECHANICAL HAND WITH AUTOMATIC PROPORTIONAL CONTROL OF PREHENSION.

Abstract

A new approach to the control of prehension is presented which provides the upper extremity amputee with automatic control by detecting the slippage of objects grasped. The requirements for control of a functional prosthesis are presented and various control methods analyzed with respect to these requirements. (Author)
