Abstract

Results of studies in the following areas are reported: ribonucleic acid metabolism in bacterial cells infected with temperate phages; in vitro synthesis of the determinant 34 of the Salmonella O-antigen; chemical structure of the receptor for phage g341 and genetic function of phage g341; isolation and classification of +-epsilon mutants of phase epsilon-34; development of procedures for delysogenization.
