AIR DEFENSE STUDIES (ADS) DIGITAL SYSTEM.

Abstract

The technical manual describes the digital system and provides information necessary for maintaining the equipment in an operable state. The ADS system is used for the acquisition and recording of data in the field and for the playback of these data later in the laboratory. The system consists of two equipments: the field equipment and the laboratory equipment. Input data to the field equipment are in analog form. For greatest accuracy in recording these data, they are converted to digital form before they are recorded serially on magnetic tape. Thus the laboratory equipment, which recovers these data from tape, must reconvert them to analog form. The field equipment also recovers and reconverts the data to permit a 'quick-look' evaluation in the field. (Author)
