FLASH PHOTOLYSIS OF CLNF2 AND FNCL2.

Abstract

Flash photolysis-kinetic spectroscopy experiments were performed on ClNF2 and FNCl2. In the case of ClNF2, no transient spectra were observed, but only permanent changes in the spectrum due to decomposition of the molecule. In the case of FNCl2, a transient band system between 3400A and 3900A was observed, with maximum intensity at a delay time of 150 micro sec. Features fall into a progression with an interval of about 360/cm, which probably represents a bending frequency in the excited electronic state. The carrier of this band system is unknown. Associated with the band system is a continuous absorption on the short wave length side. (Author)
