INVESTIGATION OF THE ASSUMPTIONS OF THE PROBABILISTIC THEORY OF ROUND-OFF ERRORS IN NUMERICAL INTERGRATION OF DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS.

Abstract

A study has been made of the assumption of the probabilistic theory of round-off errors in numerical integration of differential equations. To test the valadity of this theory experiments were performed to test the very assumption of this model, namely the randomness of the local round-off error. In conclusion, the most critical factor, deciding on randomness of the local round-off error, is the proportion of step-length and accuracy. (Author)
