A STUDY OF VISUAL SEARCH USING EYE MOVEMENT RECORDINGS.

Abstract

The report is a summary description of the progress during the first six months of the second year of the visual search program. The first study of 1966 is an investigation of the use of size information for acquiring targets. This is nearing completion. The second study is an investigation of the use of color information. It is in an advanced stage of preparation. The objective in both experiments is to develop a framework for predicting the precise proportions of fixations on objects in different size and color categories as a function of the target specification and field composition.
