THE SURFACE WAVES FROM SHALLOW UNDERWATER EXPLOSIONS; FORMULAE AND PROGRAM SPECIFICATIONS.

Abstract

This report presents a summary and review of the theoretical analysis and formulae which are used for the prediction of the surface wave systems resulting from shallow underwater explosions. A two-parameter formula for such wave systems is derived and used to deduce their characteristics, which are discussed in some detail. The theoretical results are compared with the limited experimental data available. The specifications are given for four PEGASUS Autocode programs which evaluate the formulae. (Author)
