AN INVESTIGATION OF THE POLYGONIZATION OF MOLYBDENUM AND ITS ALLOYS.

Abstract

The polygonization process of molybdenum and molybdenum alloys was investigated and the conditions of polygonization and the qualitative laws governing its development explored by applying the methods of metallography and electron microscopy. The results of the investigation verified the inhibiting effect of polygonization on the recrystallization process. At the same time, by measurement of hardness and elastic limit. The effects of polygonization on the mechanical properties of molybdenum and molybdenum alloys was investigated. The results indicate that the polygonal structure greatly improves these properties.
