EVALUATION OF GAS DIODES XD2B, NE63, XD3B, AND NE64.

Abstract

The General Electric Company XD2B gas diode and its potential replacement, the NE63, were evaluated to determine their comparative acceptability for use in the Mk 312 and Mk 328 Guided Missile Fuzes. A similar evaluation was made of the XD3B and NE64 diodes for use in the Mk 312 fuze. The evaluations consisted of electrical testing under environmental conditions that closely approximated those experienced by the diodes in the fuzes. The test results, which are presented in several appendixes in the form of computer printouts, indicated that the NE63 and NE64 diodes are acceptable for use in their respective fuzes. (Author)
