DATA PROCESSING FOR LOCAL CIVIL DEFENSE: AN INVESTIGATION OF THE POTENTIALS.

Abstract

An investigation of the potential applications of electronic data-processing equipment for local civil defense functions. Directed specifically toward the viewpoint of the local civil defense director, the report presents the system considerations required to determine the time period(s) during which such equipments should be used; poses questions, gives answers and discusses the range of potential applications, the constraints and considerations of information systems, and management and operational factors; and, finally recommends the course of action to follow regarding further related studies.
