DESK CALCULATOR PROCEDURES FOR DETERMINING ENLISTED PERSONNEL PLANNING FACTORS.
Abstract
A previous report (AD-623 008) described a computerized algebraic model which simulates the enlisted advancement system. This model calculates vacancies, required advancements, predicted advancements, and predicted end-year on board for all pay grades of all ratings for a five year period into the future. It also calculates the required non-petty officer base for all ratings for the five years. In some instances, the advancement planners may wish to apply the model to but one segment of the enlisted rating structure, such as a particular rating or a specific pay grade of a rating, without resorting to the use of a computer. This report was prepared for that purpose. It presents the step-by-step procedures, worksheets, and instructions necessary to apply the model to a segment of the rating structure using a desk calculator. (Author)
