Abstract

The report contains surveys of the present state of knowledge of the shock hardening of metals, the dynamic deformation behavior of metals, and a review of experimental techniques for measuring high velocity metals, displacements and high intensity, short duration pressures. It includes a report of the significant analytical work done at the Center on the large dynamic plastic deformation of metal blanks under impulsive loading. (Author)
