COMPACT HIGH CALORIE RATIONS.
Abstract
Service tests were conducted to evaluate the performance, suitability, and acceptability of the Packet, Subsistence, Long Range Patrol, Type II, Scrim Cloth Bag, for possible use by reconnaissance units. It was concluded that the operational performance characteristics of the Packet, Subsistence, Long Range Patrol, are satisfactory for its intended purpose. It is recommended that this item be approved for U. S. Marine Corps use during appropriate operations, but no procurement initiated until development of the redesigned ration is completed. (Author)
