STUDY DIAPOSITIVE FORMAT FOR ORIGINAL FILM RECORD IN AERIAL SURVEILLANCE.
Abstract
A study was made of the feasibility and desirability of converting from negative processing of aerial photographic imagery used in intelligence production to a system of processing which would provide a diapositive (positive transparency). The technique is considered feasible. A cost/effectiveness analysis showed that diapositives are consistently superior to negatives in accuracy and completeness. The impact of conversion was analyzed for several types of processes and doctrine was developed to allow the Army to take advantage of the potentially superior effectiveness of diapositives. (Author)
