A METHOD FOR DETERMINING TRANSMISSION LOSS THROUGH SHIP HULLS.

Abstract

A method for using an impulse noise source to determine the sound transmission loss through ship hulls is described. If fully developed it would have many advantages over the direct steady-state techniques now in use. Experimental verification did not produce fruitful results, however, because of the difficulty in analyzing the response traces which were of long duration due to reverberation effects. Other possible techniques for performing this analysis are suggested. (Author)
