A RASTER SCAN CHARACTER GENERATOR FOR FACSIMILE ANNOTATION.

Abstract

Paper describes a solid state Raster Scan character generator designed to print alpha numeric data on a picture produced electrically on a commercial facsimile machine. The character generator employs monolithic logic elements and a permanent data storage magnetic rope memory. The device generates 16 characters but may be easily expanded to generate a larger character set. A manual control permits variation of character size. Theory of operation and design details are presented. Resultant prints of characters and character generator annotated pictures are displayed. (Author)
