ROCKETS ON GUARD FOR PEACE.

Abstract

The article is a journalistic sequel to a military parade that took place in Moscow on Red Square 9 May 1965, the twentieth anniversary of what the Soviets call the Day of Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War. It contains film clips of a variety of weapons taken from a special documentary film prepared for this occasion. This film was shown in America on the ABC television network under the title 'Soviet Missile Arsenal' with English commentary by Jules Bergman, ABC science editor. The film purportedly showed for the first time Soviet ICBMs silo-launched, Polaris-type sub-launched missiles, the SAM interceptions of aircraft and missiles, including one nuclear interception of an ICBM. The purpose of this translation is to make available not only the English text of the article but also the accompanying illustrations. (Author)
