BEHAVIOR OF A CLOSED END HOLLOW CYLINDER ACTED UPON BY EXTERNAL PRESSURE

Abstract

The equations for plastic flow in a cylinder subjected to external pressure are derived. The case where reverse yielding occurs is also considered. The derived equations give results that are very similar to those for internal pressure application.
