TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER ON A FLAT PLATE IN AN INCOMPRESSIBLE FLUID.

Abstract

The effective viscosity arising from the Re stresses is a function only of the 'Re number of the turbulence', made up of the total turbulent energy, scale of turbulence and molecular viscosity. This function is universal for boundary-layer type turbulent flows and independent of the presence of a pressure gradient. (Author)
