THE ROLE OF THE MILITARY COMPTROLLER IN DEFENSE MANAGEMENT.
Abstract
The comptroller's responsibility is to see to it that those who plan and execute decisions have the information necessary to their jobs. His responsibility begins and ends with the design and maintenance of the information system built around this program concept. The Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs, Department Secretaries, and Service Chiefs use the information to develop sound plans, assure the means for integrated execution, and provide for appropriate revision when necessary.
