Abstract

Crystal designs and processes are described for filter crystal units - frequencies 1.75 MC, 5 MC, 6 MC and 10 MC - which were fabricated for end use as Preproduction Samples. Three designs were selected to cover the comparatively broad frequency range: planoconvex at 1.75 MC, mass loaded flat round blanks at 6 MC and 10 MC, and mass loaded ''race-track'' shaped blanks at 5 MC. All major tests were performed. Performance was satisfactory at frequencies 5 MC, 6 MC and 10 MC. The preproduction samples were not submitted because of a capacitance ratio problem at the 1.75 MC frequency (planoconvex design). (Author)
