A STUDY OF THE ATTRITION DATA FOR BASIC ENLISTED SUBMARINE SCHOOL IN 1965.

Abstract

The attrition picture of the Basic Enlisted Submarine School for 1965 was studied. Total attrition for the year was 22.8 per cent with 14.4 per cent of men who reported for this duty being disqualified for physical reasons. This was compared with 1964 when only 11 per cent of the total were physical failures. The majority of the physical failures could have been prevented by proper screening. A simple review of the Health Record before transfer would have eliminated 32.4 per cent of the physical drops. The various figures are compared and discussed. (Author)
