ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT TRANSMISSION OF FLUOBERYLLATE GLASSES WITH SMALL ADDITIONS OF THE RARE EARTH FLUORIDES OF CERIUM GROUP.

Abstract

It has been shown that small additions of the rare earth fluorides of cerium group increases the ultraviolet light transmission of fluoberyllate glass. This phenomenon has been interpreted. The action of X-rays upon glass with samarium fluoride additions has been investigated and the observed phenomenon has been explained. (Author)
