ON HERMITE-BIRKHOFF INTERPOLATION.

Abstract

A theorem of Polya (1931) concerning the existence of a unique polynomial solution to an interpolation problem of the kind studied by G. D. Birkhoff (1906) is generalized from Polya's case of only two nodes to a more general type of interpolation problem here described as of the quasi-Hermite type. (Author)
