FLOW FIELD AND SURFACE PRESSURE MEASUREMENTS IN THE FULLY MERGED AND TRANSITION FLOW REGIMES ON A COOLED SHARP FLAT PLATE

Abstract

The experimental survey of the flow field near the leading edge of a cooled, sharp flat plate parallel to a hypersonic stream of low density is discussed. Results consisting of impact pressure and hot-wire anemometer profiles plus surface pressures are analyzed and compared to recent theoretical results. Data are presented for viscous interaction parameters as high as 2.0.
