Abstract
The book gives basic information on the most important forms of chemical current sources. The variety of alkali and lead storage batteries and voltaic elements produced industrially is discussed, together with their electrical and service characteristics. Recommendations are made as to the choice of storage batteries for various operating conditions. The properties of the materials employed in the manufacture of chemical current sources are described. Safety techniques employed in working with storage batteries are considered. The book is designed for engineers and technicians concerned with the production or operation of chemical current sources.
