FIELD EVALUATION OF EXPERIMENTAL MODEL OF SUBMARINE DECK EXPOSURE SUIT.

Abstract

An improved prototype model of a waterproof submarine deck exposure suit was tested under actual operating conditions aboard a conventional-type submarine, (not a nuclear powered submarine), to determine whether it is sufficiently improved to recommend its adoption as a replacement for the present standard garment. It was concluded that in comparison with the standard wet/cold weather suit now supplied to the Fleet, the experimental submarine deck exposure suit is not sufficiently improved to warrant its being recommended as a replacement.
