FINAL REPORT OF INFORMATION PROCESSING RESEARCH.

Abstract

The project on clinical information processing centered primarily in the Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic and encompassed: data gathering; information retrieval; report design; and patient information. Upon development of the Change of Status form, data processing was expanded to the inpatient Orthopedic Service. Operating procedures were devised and tested for gathering patient information without the requirement for professional personnel to record information in duplicate. Gathering of information by personnel who were vitally concerned or interested in the success of the program virtually eliminated the recording of inaccurate information. (Author)
