CYCLOTRON RESONANCE EXPERIMENTS.
Abstract
Various experiments including cyclotron resonance, helicon propagation and de Haas - van Alphen effect were conducted for purposes of studying transport properties of several semiconductors and semimetals. These materials include Alpha-Sn, Te, InSb, Sb, CdS and HgTe. In most cases it was possible to obtain new information on effective masses, carrier densities or scattering times. Instrumentation which was constructed to permit the use of large uniaxial stress in cyclotron resonance and de Haas - van Alphen experiments is described along with a discussion of the more successful research areas.
