SOLID-STATE ELECTROMETER FOR PORTABLE RADIATION MONITOR.

Abstract

A solid-state electrometer is described in which a Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOS FET) is employed in the high impedance input stage. The range of current measurement is from 10 to the -12th power Amperes to 10 to the -8th power Amperes. The design of this electrometer lends itself to application in a portable radiation survey meter, affording high linearity, fast response, instant warm-up, and low power consumption. (Author)
