ON BERNOULLI'S METHOD FOR SOLVING ALBEBRAIC EQUATIONS.

Abstract

There are two methods for solving algebraic equations which appear to be useful in computation by automatic computing machinery. Graeffe's method gives easily only absolute values of the roots. Bernoulli's method as originally stated gives the root itself, except for certain cases where the method fails. This report extends the method to include such cases also. (Author)
