SUPERSONIC WIND TUNNELS LABORATORY BOMB TUNNEL CALIBRATION TEST NOZZLES M-1.7,

Abstract

A series of tests was run to determine the performance of the first fixed supersonic nozzle constructed for the Aberdeen Bomb Tunnel, including velocity, pressure, and flow inclination distribution through the test section. It was determined that the average speed produced in the test section by this nozzle corresponded to a Mach Number of Ma=1.72, and that, although there were non-uniformities in the flow in the test section, the condition of the flow was satisfactory to permit reasonably accurate model testing.
