EFFECT OF PYROPHOSPHATES ON THE LABORATORY PERFORMANCE OF TOPICALLY APPLIED AQUEOUS STANNOUS FLUORIDE,

Abstract

Laboratory studies were carried out on 280 extracted human molars to determine the compatibility of pyrophosphates with stannous fluoride in aqueous solution. The ability of 0.4 percent stannous fluoride to function effectively in topical applications was negated by the addition of calcium pyrophosphate to the solution. (Author)
