PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF PERCHLORO-P-XYLYLENE.
Abstract
The 'positive halogen' reaction between perchloro-p-xylene and potassium iodide gives an almost quantitative yield of perchloro-p-xylylene. Chemical and spectral evidence agiainst the diradical (benzenoid) structure for this chlorocarbon is presented. (Author)
