SEMI-MICRO ANALYSIS OF CHLORINE IN HIGHLY CHLORINATED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

A semi-micro analytical method for quantitative determination of chlorine in highly chlorinated compounds - where frequently the currently used methods fail - is described. It is essentially analogous to the macro-methods described by Fedoseev and Ivashova (J. Anal. Chem. URSS v11 p233 1956), and it consists in the reaction of the chlorinated compound with powdered magnesium at 600C. (Author)
